Subject:Positively empowering.

How wonderful to have a chance to be a little bit supportive of your endeavors, my dear Selina. I don't know if you remember discovering me complaining on the Radical Midwives Forum about the pressure for an elective C-section that my doctors where putting me under. All v. stressful! Out of the blue you started sending me research around triplet births and any positive birth outcomes you came accross. It went on for the rest of the pregnancy and it was wonderful. I was so totaly under seige by doctors who were 'national experts' in triplet births despite only doing an average of three a year! The info you fed me kept me strong and sane and my boys, now four and a half, are a credit to us both.

Thank you for that initial life saving (not too strong a phrase, I think!) support and all the other woman-focused birthy things that you have instigated. Glad to know you! X

Subject:Homebirth support

Hi Selina, I just wanted to say thankyou for all the advice, help and support you gave me leading up to the birth of my daughter Alice. It was great to be able to come along to the homebirth support group, talk through all of my concerns and ask questions in such a friendly and relaxed environment. From helping me chose my birthing pool to belly dancing, inversions and rebozo sifting when I was overdue, you really helped give me the confidence to try for a home birth. I also really appreciated meeting other new mums and mums-to-be who had planned home births. I would definitely recommend that anyone interested in planning a home birth should get in contact with you and attend the homebirth support group.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for the homebirth groups. I have really appreciated the advice and support you have given me through my pregnancy. For me the best thing about the homebirth group is having somewhere to go and meet like minded people, make friends and also to get answers to all those questions that I sometimes didnt like to ask the midwives. I am now looking forward to my homebirth hopefully in the next week or so. I'll let you know how I get on.

Subject:It was good to know I wasn't alone

Hi Selina,
Thanks for all your support leading up to the birth of my little boy. Attending your home birth support group made me realise I wasn't alone in wating a home birth and it was great to meet and share experiences and concerns with people living in the same area who'd already had or wanted a similar birth. I found the handouts and practical tips from you really useful and would recommend the group to anyone who s interested in alternative forms of pain relief.
